in you richly – means to allow all his words to dwell within abundantly, plentifully, and in full measure.

Discussion Question:  Why would Paul command this?

Discussion Questions:  Please share with the group your Bible study routine?

teaching – means to publicly and privately instruct others with these words of Christ. Teaching Christ’s words is not only for pastors and elders, but it is for parents and friends as well.

and exhorting one another – means to publicly and privately admonish, warn, and reprove others with the words of Christ.

with all wisdom – means to teach and admonish in a way that is clear, skillful, intelligent, and insightful.  A wise man not only has knowledge, but is wise because of his vast experience in applying that knowledge.  With experience-tested knowledge, the wise person can teach and warn others clearly, skillfully, and with insight.

singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs- John Gill believes all three of these terms are referring to the titles of the songs written by divine inspiration and recorded in the book of Psalms. Others believe the hymns and spiritual songs are not divinely inspired songs like the psalms, but are songs written by believers to praise God and instruct men.

all with grace in your hearts to God – meaning singing with gratitude, favor, delight, and goodwill in our inner self to our good and majestic God.

Discussion Question:  Why would Paul encourage us to sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs?

Listening Prayer method – a method where you write what you think God would say to you after meditating and studying a Bible passage.

Does His Word Dwell in You?

Do My words live and dwell in you?
Do you spend abundant time with them?
Do you know them well?
Do you love them?
Do you meditate in them?
Do you struggle and build experience with them by living them out in your daily life?

Continue to grow in My words.
Increase your time and dedication to them.
Then use your knowledge and experience with My words to teach and warn others.  Humbly teach and warn your dear children and friends the lessons you have learned.

Sing My words.
Sing songs about my words.
Sing them to me.
I not only want to hear your prayers, but I also want to hear your songs.
Sing songs to Me while you are alone and while you are together.
Sing songs to Me with an inner sense of gratitude, delight, and goodwill.
